OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY
At Mudrock Flats, we see incredible value in the simple things that fill our lives - the people who surround us, the nature we coexist with, and the goods that we use every single day. As a veteran-owned and operated business, we also understand the importance of giving back to those who serve us, our country, and our communities.
Mudrock Flats creates original, artisan-crafted goods to fit perfectly into your life.
Our specialty is in working with you to create custom works of art. By communicating directly with our artisan, you can buy unique, made-to-order items that bring more meaningfully crafted goods into your life and contribute to a growing movement for ethically created products. To supplement our one-of-a-kind goods, we also have a few immediately available Stock items for those who just can't wait to get a little piece of Mudrock Flats.

Founded by Jim Kraemer, a Service-Disabled Veteran, Mudrock Flats came into existence as the result of a long personal journey into leatherworking. After recovering from a significant, life-threatening illness, Jim realized that he wanted to spend his time in a meaningful way, pursuing a creative passion and producing art for himself, his friends, and his family to enjoy. After growing as a craftsman and leatherworker, Jim created Mudrock Flats to bring these tangible creations to a wider audience.

Our Values
Made in America
Our products are American-made using American materials. Exceptions may be made if American-made materials do not exist for a project or are not of high enough quality. We will always strive to use American-made components in our products.

Concern for Animal Welfare
We love animals. We are sensitive to the fact that many people oppose using animals for food and clothing. Leather is a strong, long lasting, beautiful material that is a byproduct of feeding billions of people. It should not be wasted.

Environmentally Conscious
As stewards of both the earth and family values, we want our earth to remain a place in which our children and their children can safely live. These days, many of the products that we buy are made with toxic materials in hazardous work environments. We make sure that our materials are high-quality and environmentally sensitive so that we can continue to enjoy the good things in life surrounded by the land, water and air we love.

For example, our primary source of leather is Wickett & Craig, located in Carbonsville, Pennsylvania. Using eco-friendly vegetable tanning processes and hides from American-raised cattle, Wickett & Craig produces some of the finest leather available today.

Socially Responsible
We believe in giving back to the communities that serve us. 5% of our sales are donated to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Warrior Foundation (EODWF). The foundation provides financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran wounded, injured or ill EOD warriors, and their families.
The Creation Process
Each of our products is carefully made to your satisfaction. Direct communication between you and our artisans is integral to our process. If you'd like to request Personalized or Created works from us, the process is simple:
-
Contact us at artisan@mudrockflats.com and let us know what you have in mind.
-
Our artisans will communicate directly with you to get to know you a little better, create a design, and set a price.
-
For Created goods, you will be given access to a password-protected folder in the Gallery, in which you can review initial designs and plans, as well as approve the final product.
-
We will set to work on your request.
A Note on Pricing
Prices are unique to each order and will depend on the amount of time, material, and design that goes into each item. The price will also reflect your desired level of involvement in the creative process. We cannot give set prices on our website for custom work because each project is unique. We can assure you that we will always offer a quality product at a fair value.

Warranty
Simple. If at any time the Mudrock Flats product you purchased breaks down or becomes defective due to material or workmanship we will repair or replace the item.
